Reading and Presenting, Continuously

Children need to spend much time reading and talking, in order to learn how to use language effectively. I give my students the time and attention to find just the right fiction, non-fiction, newspapers, and comic books that are right for them.

Vocabulary and conciseness of expression are trained through purposeful writing, explicit vocabulary instruction, and frequent presentations. My students look up words they encounter reading continuously, and keep them in their Vocabulary Treasure Chest, a living document of their growth and journey.
